Global IMPACT Day

Making a world of difference

DocuSign Global IMPACT Day 2019 Toronto

Giving back to the community is a central part of our culture.

One of the ways we celebrate this culture is through our annual Global IMPACT Day when hundreds of DocuSign employees around the world take a break from their daily routines to volunteer together in their local communities, contributing to causes they care about.

In 2019, over 1,500 employees contributed more than 5,000 hours of volunteer service – the equivalent of more than 200 days of community service.

  • Toronto DocuSign employees collaborated on a fundraiser with Breast Cancer Society of Canada (BCSC), a registered, national non-profit charity dedicated to saving lives through breast cancer research. BCSC raises money to fund patient-focused research for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer.
  • Latinx Employee Resource Group members in Chicago volunteered at Casa Norte, which provides services to youth and families experiencing homelessness.
  • Colorado DocuSign employees volunteered at the Women’s Bean Project, a nonprofit that teaches job readiness and life skills through employment in its gourmet food and handmade jewelry manufacturing business.
  • In San Francisco, one team worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, to set-up and staff a walk event. We folded t-shirts, assembled lanterns, and walked to raise money.

From San Francisco to Seattle, Tokyo to Toronto, and Denver to Dublin, DocuSigners rolled up their sleeves to make a difference in the communities in which they live and work. DocuSign donated more than $130,000 as a match to these employee hours.

Here’s what DocuSign employees had to say about their experience participating in this year’s Global IMPACT Day.

“Volunteering and giving back to the community has always been something I value.  Working at an organization that provides employees designated time away from our day to day jobs to do this showcases how much the organization values the world around us.”  Shikha Bindra, Sr. Manager, Commercial Sales, Canada

“IMPACT Day this year was so rewarding. I spent the morning volunteering with Foodcloud redistributing surplus foods to families that need it the most around Ireland. The amount of food waste was eye opening. It’s great to know we did something that not only positively affected families, but the environment as well”  Claireann Ahern, Market Development Representative, UK

“Volunteering has always been a passion of mine.  As I’ve progressed through life and career, new responsibilities and priorities have limited my ability to give back through service. Thankfully, DocuSign encourages and promotes community service which has allowed me to plug back into something that I value. I’m so grateful to be a part of an organization that cares about my personal development inside and outside of the office.” Gil Vega, Customer Success Project Manager, Chicago

“I absolutely love that we were able to volunteer at the Women’s Bean Project. This organization has a special place in my heart. As a young communications professional, I participated as a member of the Bean’s communications committee where I assisted with media relations, event planning, and overall communication strategy. I have seen the passion and values of this organization inside and out and as a business professional woman myself, I love seeing this organization lift women up, giving them a second change, and letting them be the women they are meant to be.”  Meghan Ciacci, Customer Success Manager, Denver

“For me, working at DocuSign and having the support of the company to go out and make a difference in our community is really a dream come true. Before I worked at DocuSign, I volunteered frequently, but now my volunteering reaches further with the “Dollars for Doers” program, which is amazing! When telling people about my job at DocuSign, the way the company supports our volunteerism is something that I always talk about since it is something that is important to me and I love that I work for a company that also promotes their employees to IMPACT their community.”  Denise Latka, Administrative Assistant, San Francisco

"Working for an organization that truly does care and allows us to free our time to give back to our community has been a key motivator for me to feel like I am doing the work of my life!"  Elda Shawil, Senior MDR, Canada

Like our products, our people help save forests, too. Through the DocuSign IMPACT initiative, our employees have volunteered thousands of hours at organizations promoting healthier forests, including urban forests in the communities where we work and live. The 20 billion sheets of paper DocuSign and its customers have saved is just the beginning. Also saved were over 2.5 billion gallons of water needed to make that paper, plus over 140 million pounds of waste, sparing our planet from over 2 billion pounds of additional CO₂.*

Global IMPACT Day is a special day when employees all over the world volunteer together, but our DocuSign IMPACT programs run all year. Every DocuSign employee gets 3 days of paid Volunteer Time Off, plus matching donations from DocuSign IMPACT for both employee donations and volunteer hours logged.
